Ryan Homes came by to apply break-away screws to the upstairs flooring of our 6 month old house. It didn't work at all.
Now we're told we will have to tear up carpet and remove base boards in order to correct the problem. Will that work? Will the problem re-occur? Will the problem develop elsewhere on the floor?
Who knows. Told by a Ryan rep that this occurs in one or two homes out of ten and that other builders experience the same problem. If his estimate is anything close then that is a whole lot of homes and the incompetence is apparently industry wide. So, I'm one of many.
That makes me feel so much better.
The fact that homeowners have to put up with this kind of disruption in their lives because the Ryan Homes of the world have a build it and pray attitude is absolutely INEXCUSABLE.
If I had known such a high percentage of 2 story homes has this problem, I would have gotten a ranch. My complaint may help individuals who haven't decided between a 1 or 2 story.
