Be sure you inspect your home before the final inspection. They do not return after 1 year. Nail Pops, baseboard that separates from wall on stairs to second floor. Air vent in MBR has been broken since install. Found it after the 1 year had passed. And pay attention...

Bought a Ryan townhome and within the year, had so many nail pops in it that it required 9 hours of work by two professionals to fill the holes and fix the imperfections that were left in the wall when painting was completed. Now, 4 months after the repair of the nail...

Another victim added to their list | Ryan Homes review
Ryan homes have beautiful floor plans that draws potential buyers to purchase their homes but this company fails miserably to deliver quality work. I recently purchased a new home and wished that I did my homework and researched this tacky company before I decided to go with them. The so called imposter painters did a horrible job. They did not cut into the wall when painting. The hardwood floors are not properly secured tightly. When someone takes a bath you can actually hear the water running between the walls because the walls extremely hallow. I wish I could changed back the hands of time because I would do my research and not purchase a home with this company who offers such a poor quality of work. Never will I ever purchase a Ryan home in the future. I am planning on selling this my poorly crafted Ryan home. Definitely not a keeper. Potential buyers be aware and look at the details in newly built homes. Don't go to the model homes like most people do go to a community WHERE homes are being built!
So true | Ryan Homes review from Upper Marlboro, Maryland
There are many builders to chose from, If you are considering building a Ryan home think again, there are no builder incentives for closing cost its best if you use your own lender and do not deal with NVR. The builder uses the most least expensive products. If you accidently touch a wall you will smudge the paint and if you take a damp cloth to wipe it you will find yourself rubbing the paint off. Ryan homes should be ashamed of themselves for building homes and taking shortcuts. The lender will wait until the last minute of the day to ask you for documents that you gave them a week or two earlier and even after closing they will continue to bother you with emails or phone calls so do yourself a favor and try Richmond or even Beazer
Sales person will sell you a dream and then you will find yourself in a financial and emotional nightmare. They will ask for a "Good Faith" down payment of $10,000 and then promise from the time foundation is set it will be 6-8 weeks and you will be in your new home....
DO NOT BUY FROM RYAN HOMES
Update by user Aug 07, 2013
Original review posted by user Aug 07, 2013Cheap materials, unsupervised construction, mistake cover ups, *** service, terrible sub contractors...And that was all in the first 10 months. I do not feel safe in this home. Its all about getting as many homes built as fast as you can at Ryan Homes.. NO matter the consequences. Ryan prays that they get past their "1 year" warranty. The service supervisors are only trained to give "corporate answers" and try to put a bandaid over issues in hopes of getting past their 1 year. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews. I will never purchase from Ryan nor will I ever recommend.

Poor quality of work inside and out... Never will I purchase from them again | Ryan Homes review from Mitchellville, Maryland
I currently live in Hall Station in Bowie (Mitchelvill MD). I've been in my house for under 2 years and here is a list of items that fail.. Steps creek (spelling) when I walk on them and I feel like i'll fall in. Walls still show where they didn't smooth out the edges Corking is HORRIBLE Appliances are failing (Stove, Fridge, Microwave, Dishwasher) Hard wood floors aren't tight (See cracks between each plank) Grass in backyard is non existent and they say it's because my deck is up its not getting sun If Ryan was the last builder I would not purchase and live on the street. If you do decide to purchase a home from Ryan, YOU BETTER VIDEO TAPE EVERYTHING that's being done on your house... I recently got an inspector to come out to the house and he said he couldn't come out and do it in his regular 4 hours because he ALWAYS has issues with RYAN homes (TERRIBLE)... Make sure you get an inspector BEFORE you move in or you will be sorry. I will be selling this *** soon.
Ryan homes suck.
Poor craftsmenship. Poor quality inside and out. Trim work sucks. I had to replace the windows when the house was only 7 years old. Now. I'm worried about the roof. The siding buckles in the heat. I would never recommend buying one of these homes. Plus way over priced ... I'm sure I missed some of the other *** work they did. I live in SPRING VALLEY DEVELOPMENT. 62 VANCE AVE. ID BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SHOW YOU HOW BAD THEY BUILD A HOUSE. The air conditioer is to small for the house. I'm waiting for that to go and the heater already broke all within 10 years. Sorry *** builders.
